What are the differences between closed and open technique nasal surgery?
Nose aesthetic surgery can be performed with many different techniques. However, throughout the history of nasal aesthetics, it has always been divided into two in the first step. Open technique nose surgery and closed technical nose surgery. When done correctly and consciously, it is possible to achieve very successful results with both techniques. Generally, the surgeon who performs the surgery according to the examination, expectation and experience will determine which of these two techniques will occur. In fact, the majority of the procedures performed in both operations are basically the same philosophy. In line with the same physics theories, the philosophy of forming a roof in the desired configuration is an indispensable element of both operations. It is the remaining details that separate the two techniques. In the closed technique surgery, there is no incision scar when viewed from below. The nose; it is very important for some surgeons and for some surgeons it is made by preserving a number of connective tissue structures that have no importance. The field of view is a surgical procedure that requires more experience and experience.
In open technique, a burun w “incision is made at the tip of the nose. Mostly, it is done by removing the bond structures I mentioned. Since the field of view is wide, the operations are carried out in series. After 6-7 months, the incision scar usually becomes invisible and unselectable. However, very rare; necrosis at the incision site, tissue loss may develop, but these are very rare. In my own clinic, as a doctor who has adopted the closed method more than the primary operations, I perform the majority of my operations with closed method. I take photos of my patients by giving them this information and then I do the surgery planning with my patient by using photoshop simulation at the computer. Then we set the day of surgery.
Nose surgery is done without buffer?
For many years, I did this surgery without using a tampon. But believe that the nasal tampon is not bad as you think, but the opposite affects the comfort of the patient better. I prefer silicone pads with holes in the middle for a maximum of 2 days. My patients spend these 2 days comfortably by breathing through the bumper holes. For these two days, I’m giving creams to the edges of the bumper so that they do not have any problems when removing the bumper as there is no sticking to the edges.
How long will the swelling last after the nasal surgery?
One of the subjects I spend most of the time with my patients during the examination is the subject of the buffer I mentioned above and the other one. In fact, many people flee or abandon the operation is the reason. In fact, it is a prejudice in our society after the operations performed with old habits. Using surgical instruments I will talk about in a moment; We still could not eliminate this problem, but we have pretty much reduced. In my patients, swelling and bruising usually last for 3-4 days and last for 5-6 days. days and rapidly decreases at the end of the week at the end of the face is not much in sight. I suggest them to work on the 8th day and sometimes on the 10th day.
What is Piezzo Surgery?
One of the important issues that I mentioned above is the surgical instruments that have significantly affected the comfort of the surgery in recent years. First of all, I have to say. No matter what is used in Piezzo or any other device, edema after nasal surgery, there will be some amount of swelling. Even if we separate the nose skin from the nose skeleton without doing anything, without touching the bones, some edema, swelling is sometimes bruised. The edema, the rest of the bruise is completely determined by bone interventions. Previously, while these instruments were not yet on the market, we were shaping the nasal bones with hammer-cutting tools that we call osteotomes. However, the situation has changed a bit.
We now call piezzo the nose bones; With ultrasonic vibrations, it is possible to create more smooth surface incision lines in the bones without damaging the soft tissues. There are also instruments that make smooth atraumatic incisions in the bones that we call microtesters. Both are available in our clinic. I’m using both, depending on the situation. That’s why my patients get better.

What is the process after nasal surgery?
My own procedure for this is as follows. After taking my patient under surgery under general anesthesia, I stay in my hospital for 1 day. However, I also have many patients discharged on the same day. On the first day, I recommend 15 minutes of cold application to the cheeks and forehead. On the first day, I give nutrition with liquid foods in our liquid hospital and in the following days I do not restrict eating and drinking. After 2 days, I pull the nasal pads and when the week is full, I remove the thermal splint in the nose.
